Elevated on a sand dune, the compact form of this beachside home hovers over an outdoor courtyard perimeter wall, featuring playful opening portholes

Lifestyle

With views out to Wellington city and Ward Island, this home is perfectly positioned to capture all day sun along with amazing beach front views.

Interior

This home has a great interior feel while connecting to the amazing sea views. On a windy Wellington day, sheltered courtyards with customised adjustable cedar screens can be found.

Kitchen

Stone island bench top creates a central focus point to this beachside home.

Privacy

Careful planning of this home to capture sea views but remain private, were a success.

Exterior

Careful consideration has been taken on this project with quality finishing materials selected and designed for the challenges of the oceanside environment. Cedar and James Hardie Titan board were the preferred choices for the exterior cladding.

Three periscope-style popups point in different directions and give the house its distinctive form.

"It's like a giant sun dial inside," Warren says. "At no point will the sun stream into a room to a level where it's uncomfortable." There are no blinds because the light has been so carefully calculated. HERE No.19
